Nirmal Mission Eye Hospital, Rishikesh

Nirmal Ashram is a charitable institution based at Rishikesh. The present spiritual head of the Ashram - Mahant Ram Singhji Maharaj travels extensively around the globe and enlightens the devotees with his speeches and Pravachans. Back at home, Sant Jodh Singhji Maharaj charters and executes all the philanthropist activities of the Ashram. During the course of conducting free medical camps as part of the rural out-reach program, the Ashram identified the need to address the problem of curable blindness amongst the rural population of Uttranchal and set up another charitable institution - Nirmal Mission for Vision.
Nirmal Mission for Vision decided to establish a state-of-the-art eye care facility, Nirmal Ashram Eye Institute in Rishikesh. This 100-bed eye hospital, inaugurated on 25th March 2007, is located in the picturesque town of Rishikesh and caters to the hilly terrain of Uttaranchal and performs 10,000 free eye surgeries annually. This hospital has been built with support from the Kewalramani family. Suresh, Vijay, Varsha and Chandru Kewalramani, the children of Late Shri Radhakishan and late Rajni Kewalramani hail from a successful business family, which has presence in India, London, Spain, USA and Nigeria. Ardent disciples of the Nirmal Ashram, the Kewalramani family is deeply involved in the social activities of this institution for many decades.
Mr. Chandru Kewalramani is also a trustee of Mission for Vision and his company supports the Katsina Eye Centre of Tulsi Chanrai Foundation in Nigeria. The Nirmal Ashram Eye Hospital is currently being managed by SECI.
